30 Minutes for 100 days: DAY 100!

Day 100!  I don't think I've ever stuck with anything for one hundred days!  At least as far as diet and exercise is concerned.

My goals included exercising every day.  Being leaner, stronger and fitter.  Having more endurance and energy.  I exercised about 80 out of the 100 days.  Without this blog and public commitment to exercise, I would have exercised 50 days or less.

Losing at least 10 pounds in the process and having my clothes fit better.  I lost and kept off 5 lbs.  My clothes fit better  I try not to dwell too much on the number on the scale but a lower, leaner number continues to be my goal.

To eat healthier and smarter.  Pre-plan several meals each week with a healthy balance of carbs, protein and fat.  More vegetables.  Less meat.  Achieving this goal was definitely a work in progress.  Some days and weeks lent themselves to food planning and prep, others ... not so much.   We have pretty much cut out fast food, reduced our bread and chip intake, ate a lot more vegetables, legumes and lean meat.  The girls and I are reading food labels.  We have tried and added new foods to our diets.  And we have dramatically cut back on sweets.    On a side note:  My Kendall lost 15 lbs since Christmas by eating smarter (cutting out ice cream!) and working out with her V-Ball team.

Another goal was for fitness and healthy eating to be part of my family life.  We have all been a lot more conscience of making healthier, smarter food choices and planning exercise into our days.  Most days we succeeded, some days we traveled.

Overall, I give myself a 'B'.  Better than average but room for improvement.

So, what's next?  I've been thinking a lot about that.  Here's the thing:  I like the exercise.  It's been fun.  I'm physically and mentally stronger and (let's face it!) I like blogging.

SIXTY 4 NINETY!   A "catchy phrase" for my next personal exercise challenge.   I've been thinking of this one for a long time now.  Oh sure, the phrase could be catchier, but the premise is just out of my comfort zone and therefore perfect!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day.  Time to take this "exercise thing" up a notch!

A goal achieved is the starting point for the next goal.  (Inspiring, original quote for the magnet???)
