Day 22

2/20/2014

I haven't actually gotten in my 30 minutes yet but I will before the rain falls this a.m.  I just happened to be at the computer with a few things on my mind.

January 1st I started a Gratitude Jar.  The purpose is to write down something that I am grateful for every day.  Then at the end of 2014, I can look back and appreciate my year.  I started out really well.  Then February arrived.  And as it is just about to leave, I wondered what my problem is!  In January I was grateful for health, home, sunshine, togetherness, yada yada yada.   I am still grateful for those things every single day.  I just can't keep writing down the same "high level" gratitude.  It's just too Polyanna.  (And you know where she belongs!)

I'm going to adjust my gratitude jar so I am grateful for something specific (nearly) every day.  And I'm going to use those teeny slips of paper to create a tiny diary of my year.  For instance:  I am so grateful to Sue Locke for brainstorming and creating the Pediatric Palliative Care Family Fund.  For bringing together a unique, creative, intelligent and fun group of women for her board of directors.  For being so stinkin' passionate about helping kids and families whose needs are indescribable and unimaginable.  For having the vulnerable-fortitude to talk to the president of Akron Children's and the head of PPC about her vision and goals.  I am thankful for Sue Locke and all the women she has gathered together to bring Power to PPC.  Rock On Sista!  (I'm gonna have to write itty bitty on those teeny tiny slips of paper!)
