Went boxing today and will walk later to get more Fitbit steps. I really like the boxing. (We also do a bunch of burpees and sit-ups and squats and jumps that are really really hard! I'll either be way more fit in a month or I'll have had a heart attack.)
Back in the olden days when we lived in Massachusetts I taught aerobics at a club called BodyShapers. It was a good gig. Lots of fun, really nice people, good money. At one point there was a boxing class taught by a guy named Michael who had been an amateur boxer and was moving up the ranks. Michael's story is that the night before an important match, he had to lose a pound to make weight so he went out for a run. During the run, he was hit by a passing car and lost his leg. The entire course of his life changed. Years later somehow he ended up at BodyShapers teaching boxing. He was only there for a short time but he taught a motley group of us how to hit both the punching bag and the heavy bag. We jumped rope and hit bags for an hour. It was a great workout. My arms have never looked better. I wonder about Michael occasionally and hope the best for him.
Be good to yourselves my friends!
