WHERE do you put your effort? Physical exercise? Work? Home improvement? Your children? Friends? Pets? Candy Crush? There are so many forces competing for our effort. Managing time is tricky. And sometimes, at least in my world, hanging around just chatting with the kids or friends is the most rewarding part of the week. Rewarding but sedentary and oftentimes chocolate or wine is involved.
Those numbers on the scale are creeping up and I'm feeling jiggley. So today was the day to hit the gym with a new plan. More cardio, weight training and a spinning class. (Taking the dog to the dog park cuz I'm too pooped to walk.) Adding a yoga class on Wednesday for a little stretch and body weight workout.
It really is time to refocus my effort on my physical health. I'm concerned that my endurance, agility and strength are not what they were a couple months ago. It's scary how quickly your fitness decreases without daily exercise. I've found too many other places to put my effort. So while my house looks good (home improvements baby!), those voices in my head are grumbling about my physical appearance.
It is time to "Step Up or Shut Up!" "Do it or not. There is no try!" "The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have." "With self discipline, most anything is possible."
