It is my job to become healthier! Healthier for me is defined: Daily, heart-raising exercise for 30-75 minutes (the longer the better!). Exercise is any combination of resistance training, cardio including long walks down the bike path and, starting tomorrow, progressively heavier weight training.
Healthier also includes taking recommended vitamins. Eating a balanced, colorful, plant-based diet. Reducing sugar, caffeine and ... wine. For those of you who know me, that last inclusion is going to kill me.
Healthier is about staying active: physically and mentally. It is about creating opportunities for emotional connections with my husband, children, family, friends, and whomever might come along who interests me.
It is about becoming leaner, lighter and stronger because I expect to have another 50 years on this planet and I plan to mobile, active and independent.
I look forward to the process of creating a habit of health. Last week and (so far) this week are a good start.
