1) I can't eat around workers. First it's a little tricky getting into the kitchen when it's being worked on. Bringing groceries into the mess is never gonna happen. Making lunch then sitting at the table and eating in front of someone is just way too uncomfortable. And I don't want to sit down to lunch with the Handyman. So, I'm down a couple lbs. Which is good cuz it's the same couple lbs I gained last weekend.
2) While one area of my house is being improved - I find other areas that also need improvement! So, the 1/2 Bath is a new awesome color and has a new cool mirror. This weekend it's the laundry room's turn.
3) Home Improvement requires multiple, time consuming trips to Lowe's and/or ACE Hardware.
Another thing I noticed is 4) when we are looking for "easy" food it usually ends up being some sort of bread and cheese combination. Grilled cheese, chips & cheese, crackers & cheese ... by the third day even the middle schooler was asking for a vegetable.
The kitchen is open and will be restocked today!
Since this is an exercise-ish blog - what about the exercise this week? Where's the effort to maintain my normal chubby self? I walked. It was great but not my usual amount of cardio time. I like to do weights or body weight exercises at least 4 times a week. But this apparently isn't one of those weeks.
It's a choice. I can always get in 30-45 minutes of exercise in somewhere! (I could exchange it for some of the sitting - aka TV or computer - time in my day!) But big home improvements don't happen very often around here and I wanted to enjoy the progress. No excuses, just my choice.
Next week though is Self Improvement Week! Hair color, mani/pedi and I'm hitting the gym hard!
