I posted an article on my FB page about what a bullet does to the body. In the article the surgeon talked about the Sandy Hook massacre where 20 children and 6 adults were killed by a mentally ill young man. The surgeon said when she heard that officials didn't immediately transport the children, she knew it was bad. She knew what one bullet could do to a little body, if they couldn't easily be moved, there had to be lots of bullets.
So now the largest mass murder in US history becomes a political argument about gun control and gun laws and the NRA and money and politicians. I hate that! The government found that people were safer in cars with seat belts, now all car makers make cars with seat belts. Everyone in their right mind knows that no one in their right mind needs an automatic weapon, yet the government says it is the right of every American to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment. I don't have a problem with hunters, sportspeople, enthusiasts and collectors. Although now I have a problem when someone collects 50 guns (like the Las Vegas shooter). Who needs 50 guns? I don't know what the answer is. But I know that something is Fucked Up! I know that I will use my voice and my vote to make a difference. No one should be afraid that at any given moment some random whack job is going to change your life forever.
Now lets talk about our fucking president. The most powerful person in the world visited Puerto Rico, a US Territory whose citizens contribute to the US economy (which we can debate but they do) and more importantly, are human beings whose island was literally wiped out two weeks ago by Hurricane Irma; so during his visit, this idiot literally lobs rolls of paper towels into a crowd of Puerto Ricans who gathered to hear what their president was going to say. He then goes on to congratulate the people of Puerto Rico for not having more deaths like Hurricane Katrina. Told people they should be proud of themselves. What?? These are people who haven't had electricity, communications, food, water, or medical supplies for two weeks. They haven't been able to travel to remote parts of the island so they don't accurately know the death toll. They do know that the number of unnecessary deaths will go up if they don't get basic supplies and assistance cleaning up and rebuilding. If Shithead can't recognize that by helping Puerto Rico he is helping Americans then at the very least he should consider it a humanitarian effort. Though I seriously doubt that narcissists' humanity.
You don't have to agree with my opinions and I don't have to agree with yours. That's the privilege of being an American. There are a lot of people whose opinions I don't share yet I enjoy their company. There are also a lot of folks whose opinion I do share but just aren't that much fun. I'd prefer to hang with fun people, no matter how stupid your opinions are!
I hope we can all remain friends. It may take some effort, but I think we can do it.
Take care of yourselves My Friends.
