I start over a lot! And I like to have a "theme" for my restarts like my newest one: "30 Minutes for 100 Days". I have considered adding witnesses in the past but never put my boring flakey self "out there". It's easier to only be accountable to myself because, obviously, I don't mind me starting over and over and over, never really achieving my goal, but coming up with some (if I do say so myself) pretty darn catchy phrases to define my newest start.
Core Values vs Core Goals.
My goals including exercising every day. Being leaner, stronger and fitter. Having more endurance and energy. Losing at least 10 pounds in the process and having my clothes fit better.
My goal is to eat healthier and smarter. Pre-plan several meals each week with a healthy balance of carbs, protein and fat. More vegetables. Less meat.
My newest goal is for fitness and healthy eating to be part of my family life. I'd like to share the benefits of health and exercise with my husband and children.
My values and my goals are not aligned. I love laying on the couch with the kids watching marathon Netflix sessions. I love drinking wine and hanging out. I love socializing with friends and family over dinners and not being concerned about having dessert or extra cocktails.
The disconnect here is that my values are social and my goals are solitary. Therefore weekends, snow days, sick days, holidays or any day that my family is around - I don't exercise ... and they don't either.
Today is the "Day Before". And it's a day off school due to the extreme cold in NE Ohio. (Bunch of wimps!) So today I will get organized. Make healthy food for the next few days. Finish some sedentary projects in the office. Create a workout plan for the week - including the weekend away for the first of many volleyball tournaments. And figure out this Weebly thing.
100 Days!!!!
