I moved a heavy piece of furniture on my foot last week. You know that pain that makes your eyes roll back in your head, your breath gets caught in your throat, brain activity stops and no sound comes out of your mouth until you can finally exhale, "FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!" Yeah, that was last Tuesday.
And oh my god! my toe was ugly! Swollen off the nail bed. Black. Painful! Disgusting yet mesmerizing. The throbbing actually kept me awake for three hours one night! I couldn't wear anything other than flip flops for days.
I have never wanted to walk and workout more than during the days I was lame. Life is funny like that! Fucking irony!
But there is so much real stuff to talk about. Racism in America, Twitter attacks, the annihilation of Puerto Rico, the taunting of North Korea, incompetence in the White House. I'm worried. I'm sickened. I'm overwhelmed.
I watched a movie about Bobby Kennedy the other day. I hadn't heard much about Bobby, nor have I given him much thought. Of course, since watching the movie, I have purchased two books about him because I'm so intrigued by his story and his words. What kind of world would we live in today if John, Martin and Bobby had not been assassinated in the 60's? Think what our world would be like if those three leaders of peace and unity had more time to spread their messages. If they had more time to influence the future! It's almost heart breaking to think about. Man, what a gift it would be to turn back time!
I know one thing I'd do differently if I could turn back time, I'd be a helluvalot more careful when moving furniture!
Move today My Friends!
