When I say it takes a lot of effort to look like a normal chubby woman I mean it takes a lot of work to "only" be 10 - 20 lbs overweight.  It's a constant freaking battle to not move up the scale or into the next size - which is a real problem because I have a whole wardrobe of clothing for when I lose 5 lbs.  I even sometimes buy clothes a little tight "knowing" that I'll wear it if I lose a couple lbs.    I NEVER buy clothes a little big thinking they will come in handy someday!  When I gain a few lbs I rarely get rid of my "skinny clothes" but I'll get rid of my "fat clothes" like a bad memory as soon as I see a certain number on the scale.  Thank god for Spandex!

Zip-lined and did a ropes course this weekend. I also spent the weekend with 8 wonderful women but more on that later.  Zip-lining is waaaaayyyyy out of my comfort zone.  A control issue?  Fear of heights? Fear of falling?  Much too comfortable in my bubble?  Yes, yes, yes and YES!  Not only was Zip-lining high up off the ground and scary but it was rainy, windy and (alliterative expletive!) freezing.  THEN to get down off the last platform we could either take the steps, which seemed like the wussy way OR we could clip into a little rope and jump off.  Scariest step ever!  Landed on my ass then took forever to un-clip - if I had a knife I would have cut myself free and walked into the bar.

The ropes course was challenging.  I have no skill set related to doing a ropes course. It is high off the ground, involves clips, tweezles, ropes, slippery wood and wires.    After I recovered my balance, got control of my fear and gained experience I realized it was really fun!  I look forward to doing it again - on a sunny uncrowded day!

This weekend was at the first-ever Pediatric Palliative Care Family Support Fund board member retreat.  Our goal is raise funds for families of children with serious medical conditions.  The funds cover expenses not covered by insurance such as certain therapies and medicines and even diapers.  We all have our friendship with the president of our board in common.  Many of these women have been good friends for years.  Others have been friendly acquaintances.  The power of women is their healing, nurturing, humorous camaraderie.  It's in their sharing of opinions, ideas, life stories, health products, jokes, recipes, common interests and new adventures.  I am renewed by their spirit and energy!  Happy Monday my friends!!!  Everyone go out for a walk today!
